Rendon Hotel
The Rendon Hotel and Bar have been a part of Los Angeles’ history for years, however recently it’s been re-interpreted as a site for local art. Staying true to the arts district community, the new Rendon Hotel will not only function as a hotel, it will also serve as a site for local community members to engage with visitors who wish to know more about the art and artists of downtown Los Angeles.
The developer, who is also a director, writer and artist, intends to inject the site with both local and foreign art. A permanent art gallery is integrated into the design, along with a re-designed Bar Rendon, and a 13-story hotel that includes a restaurant and rooftop pool. Murals will be commissioned for different parts of the facade with the white CMU acting as the perfect ‘blank canvas’.
